‘Longing for Roses’ poetry (Rose Day)

Writing up to each of the roses you've brought and saved,
Why haven't you given me any of them yet?
Okay, okay, you don't have to answer...
I know expressing is hard for you,
But can I please touch at least one of them?
Can you dry them for me, so I can paint my heart out?
As your artistic love's shadow lingers,
Or will you keep them all to yourself,
Leaving me to regret and yearn for every petal? 
With each rose, a piece of you I long to hold,
To cherish the essence of your affection,
Yet, in their fragrant beauty,
I find solace,
Even as they remain beyond my reach.
