Eventually, this is it—
The day I was waiting for,
The peace I always craved.
I met it the moment I stepped out of my body.
Now, I'm the soul... the soul of the person who just died here.
I can see, hear, and feel, but I can't touch or do anything.
I watch my loved ones crying, scattered in pieces all over the house.
I hear the screams of my mother,
My wife, my daughter, my sister, and even my brother.
Though I never expected him to cry for me,
I can see how his screams tear through the silence,
How his heart pounds with the pain of losing me.
I can see, feel, and read their thoughts—
Resentment, sorrow, broken hearts as I departed.
Ironically, they called me by my name, begging me to wake up,
But the moment I left, I became just a body or a dead body.
This sudden departure may have left them in trauma,
Though it wasn't my plan nor my will.
My mother, mournful, said, "I wouldn't forgive you for leaving like that. Get up and talk."
My wife screamed, "How can you leave me like this?"
She broke her glass bangles, trying to beat my lifeless form,
Her hands reaching out, but I couldn't respond.
My uncle shouted, "Give me some water," calling my name.
But I'm sorry, I can't anymore; all ties are severed.
My little daughter and son, too young to fully grasp,
Still amazed, still innocent to the reality of death.
They won't feel the difference until they grow and understand.
I pondered all this until I saw my elder brother coming,
Screaming at my lifeless body,
"Come back, my baby boy. I beg you, please come back."
As if it were in my hands.
I'm sorry, brother, it’s not. I'm in a better place now... the ultimate peace.
I lingered there for almost twelve days,
Watching people come and go,
Learning truths that shattered my assumptions.
I saw myself covered in a white shroud,
Felt the love of my family,
Heard the thoughts and intentions against me.
I saw my body moved by a group of men,
Saw it burned, the flames consuming,
Saw my skull split open.
I watched people live on, unbothered by my absence.
After those twelve days, as the time came for the afterlife,
All my peace turned into a heavy, saddened mark in my heart.
But I had to say goodbye without saying it,
And this was the end.
They all lost me, for this life and perhaps the next.
